"Eclectic-New French recipes offered in a high-end hotel restaurant with a terrace."
The food is made with ingredients locally sourced and was simply magnifique. Everything sounded so healthy and delicious, I wanted to try everything! Renoir and French Chef Olivier Perret were awarded 2 out of 5 "toques" - an extremely high honor and excellent score (on the brink of nearing Michelin Stars!) They also received a global score of 14 out of 20 in the first Montreal edition of the prestigious French guide Gault & Millau 2016. Other perks to Renoir: there serve buffets, brunch, and there is also an outdoor terrace that stays open all throughout the year! Yes, even in the winter you can sit outside under the heat lamps and a fireplace to enjoy hot cocoa and smores.
Complimentary bread was given as I slowly read through all the options to choose from! Renoir's entire menu can be found here. The restaurant is housed inside hotel but has 2 entrances that can be accessed from outside or inside the hotel for guests.
After hearing what the Soup of the Day was, I couldn't resist how the waiter described it as extra creamy and simply delicious. I ordered the fennel soup and it was exactly as the waiter described! The service was amazing and the waiters were so knowledgeable in the menu and food.
For my main course, I ordered the Fish of the Day snapper with delicious eggplant on the side. Paired tastefully with a Pinot Grigio.
My dining guest ordered the salmon tartare and it took every will in my body to not eat his food too!
I was told that the restaurant had just installed new Nespresso machines at the restaurant and bar (I've been told that every room in the hotel has Nespresso machines now as well)! I ordered a cappuccino to pair with my dessert. The entire tray of desserts, made freshly every morning, was brought out in front of me and I couldn't choose! I mean, how could you when everything looked this delicious?!
I settled on the raspberry chocolate cake as I'm a sucker for raspberries... and chocolate... :) a great way to wrap up my lunch at Renoir. Thank you, Chef Oliver Perret for the delicious meal.
