Located on the 20th floor of The Regent Taipei, Wellspring Spa is the 2016 World Spa Award Winner for their luxury service, unique concept and expert aromatherapy skills. Stepping off from a flight from New York, I could not wait to try Wellspring Spa's most popular treatment, Traveler's Perk - Jetlag Recovery Massage (1 hour 45 mins, NTD$4,200) to reduce stress and physical tension from the 15-hour long flight! And moreover, spend a perfect afternoon of pampering with my mom who flew in from Hong Kong. What a 5-star mother-daughter quality time!

We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff as we entered. After warm hand towels and a quick survey to indicate which areas you'd like your therapist to focus on, we were led through the hallway to our rooms.

When the door opened, I was shocked at how BIG the single room was - this is a suite, not a room! Each suite is elegantly decorated with natural wood and equipped with a sauna/steam shower, personal bathtub and a separate bathroom. Wellspring Spa has 8 single rooms and 2 double rooms.

My therapist Amy was so considerate - she gave me a quick tour of the suite then said she would be back in 20 mins so that I can change and enjoy the steam shower & sauna. The changing room had a soft bathrobe and fluffy slippers to change into and a safe to store your valuables - a nice touch. Another considerate touch is the hair ties at the vanity desk for use.

I hopped into the duo functioning sauna for a steam session and quick shower. The steam & shower room is also equipped with a rainforest ceiling shower and hand shower arm. So refreshing.

The greenery neutralizes the busy Taipei City below. After my sauna, I sipped on warm, sweet ginger tea and lounged by the window.

Therapist Amy rings the door bell and starts my session with a warm foot bath.

Time to pick a massage oil! I tested all four oils and picked my favorite, "Celestial Bloom" with hints of lavender aroma.

Massage oils to pick from: Indigo Breeze, Celestial Bloom (my pick), Harvest Harmony and Spice Lane.

Then, I laid on the massage bed for my 1 hour massage. Therapist Amy used many different techniques including long strokes, kneading, thumb and knuckle rolling while focusing on my tension areas. I was so relaxed and soon drifting in and out of sleep.

Under the massage headrest is a bowl of fresh flowers to look at during the massage. Very relaxing and considerate. No staring at the floor or any feet!

An hour went by so quickly. A hot bath was already prepared and refreshments by the side. I got in the huge tub with rose petals to soaked it all in.

Huge stone bath all to myself & light refreshments of salad, mochi and fruit.

The one thing I splurge on is massages/spas at different destinations when I travel but wow, Wellspring Spa takes the luxury spa experience to another level. Award-winning level. Not only the beautiful suite is fully equipped with your own personal bath, steam/sauna shower, bathroom, lounge area AND changing/locker room but I was most impressed by the professionalism and expert skills of the therapists. They move in the most comforting manner; considerate and attentive without intruding in your space or privacy. My mom came out of her suite beaming and non-stop praising her 5-star experience.
