Devour Seville: Tapas, Taverns & History Tour

One of the highlights we wished we did earlier in our Seville trip is join a tour with Devour Seville. We opted in for the Tapas, Taverns & History Tour where we tasted our way through tapas at 4 family-run tapas bars, a sit down full dinner blended with a fascinating guided walk through historic Seville town. We learned so much and ate at century-old family run establishments that we would not have known on our own.

Devour Seville personalizes the tour around your food restrictions and work with each restaurant, so don’t shy away from the tour if you don’t eat certain things! Tour guides are English speaking.

  1. El Rinconcillo: (Calle Gerona, 40)

Our first stop was at El Rinconcillo, a family run tapas establishment, founded in 1670. Locals gather here for the famous jamon Iberico de bellota, Spanish croquettes and sweet red vermouth.

In between food stops, our tour guide gives us a tour of Seville and thoroughly explain the history without a history lecture. We learned about how history and different groups of people shaped and influenced Seville’s architecture and food. Great to give a break and let your bellies prepare for the next tapas!

4. Taberna Alabardero (Calle Zaragoza, 20)

Our last food stop is a sit-down full dinner at Taberna Alabardero where we sampled a selection of tapas with local Spanish wines, tocino de cielo paired with sweet sherry. At this time, we could barely eat any more but could not pass on more delicious Spanish food!

We finished the night off with some sweet desserts and more wine, full of knowledge and over stuffed in our bellies. The tour made our experience at Seville complete and we felt like even though we’ve already seen some attractions, we gained different perspectives from our local guide and our new friends from the tour.
